Remaking American Trade Policy with Asia
About the event:
President Biden’s new trade agenda is ambitious. He wants to reshape trade rules so that workers, disadvantaged communities, and the climate are protected and critical goods are made domestically. But US economic influence in Asia is in decline. The US is not a member of either of the major new Asian trade partnerships, the CPTPP and RCEP. Dr. Deborah Elms will talk about prospects for achieving Biden’s trade goals in Asia and the challenges faced by US trade diplomacy in the region.
