Following the U.S. Court of International Trade’s ruling that Trump’s so-called “reciprocal” tariffs are unlawful, Aronson told the newspaper that the decision is not very meaningful for Japan because sectoral tariffs on automobiles, auto parts, aluminum, and steel are not covered by the court decision. “Japan is not entirely off the hook,” he said.
